The 23-year-old sustained pain in his right ankle during a training session last weekend, which might force him to travel to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for further assessment of the injury.

Jaiswal had been named a "non-traveling reserve" in India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad. However, now BCCI will have to find a replacement.

As for his replacement in Mumbai's Ranji Trophy squad, it isn't a major concern for the defending champions, who boast a star-studded batting lineup featuring Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav,mnl777 Shivam Dube, and Shardul Thakur.
